Where did you find these tapes?

Barry, the building manager at our office found the box of tapes in the basement of our studio in Downtown LA. He passed them off to our editing intern who then digitized, edited, and shared them with us.

What are they from?

The tapes are from a video dating service by the name of VHS Dates that existed in Van Nuys, California.

How did you digitize them?

We use Blackmagic Video Converters to convert analog VCR signals to digital. We then record onto SSDs using Blackmagic Video Assist devices.

We are a small production company in Los Angeles, California.

We thought it was important and interesting to share these people’s stories and express their beautiful feelings and experiences on love. We also found the footage charming and an amusing historical artifact of the time period.
